Little owls story developed very slowly. For some reason I'm really feeling the cold this year (and winter hasn't even started yet and it seems to be slowing me down 😦 so perhaps little owl might be chilly too 😉
The eyes are from a new design I created through Photoshop, then set in polymer clay and resin.
Little owl is wired and weighted with steel shot. The weighting gives these characters give more life to them. The wired wings give the ability to pose him and this time his head can rotate (360 degrees if required) 🙂
He has little wired claws which add just that extra texture and form
Here he is no feathers and wasn't amused when I took his photo before he was dressed.
He has been sitting on the bench for a few days and there is definitely a chill in the air he must be so cold (here my imagination is at it again 😉 )
My last owl was larger and could take a full covering of silk top but this one is just small full silk will swamp him so I plumbed for a mix of angora and silk, fluffy is always cute.
So here he is full dressed in his fluff and feathers (silk). Of course to add to that little story element and little owl has his felted hot water bottle to help keep him warm through the winter.
