Save the fingers plan, no more “ouch”

For those of you out there who needle felt, you will have experienced the sharpness of the barbed needles and yes over time I have learnt to be careful, but when working very small details this becomes more of a hazard. I have tried a few different methods of protecting, including silicone and leather guards, although these are useful they can be clumsy to work with and get in the way when detailing.

I think I have stumbled across the answer, I found some thorn proof gardening gloves reduced in a sale cheap enough to be experimented with anyway (£2)

So out came the scissors and I cut off two of the small fingers and ta dah they work a treat, (so far anyway) the cotton knit lining makes them comfortable and the protective coating just gives them enough stretch to hold in place.
