Getting back into the creative flow…..

There are times in life when creativity just seems to desert you.. Well I’ve just been through that ‘patch’. I t could have been lots of reasons, I could play my tiny violin of self pity (not that there is a reason for self pity) Is this something we all go through, probably….

It has been such a long time since I posted, I did start many draft posts and couldn’t even finish the first sentence of each of them, (insert a whole list of feeble excuses here ๐Ÿ™ˆ). My other website has grown cobwebs on its landing page… I decided I really must do something about this, I missed creating characters, there is a box of rejected designs under the work bench a testament to things started then abandoned even before they started to look like anything.

Trying to work out just where this “down in the mouth” came from, proved impossible but it definitely came to the forefront the day I stepped out of the back door and fell, there was a sickening sound just like some one had snapped a candy rock stick, it wasn’t candy, it was me, cursing as I lay in a heap, I told myself it didn’t really hurt, it would pass, just like when you bang your elbow, it hurts for a minute then it’s fine….. Well that was wishful thinking ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

At least my daughters artistic cast art reminded me to smile ….

It’s amazing what you can’t do when learning how to use crutches, the simple things like carrying coffee become a challenge … Insert another self pity list of negatives here …

Never mind, recovery has been… Well shall we say not as quick as I wanted, well we don’t always get what we want, do we. Well After a bout of wallowing self pity, frustration, anger etc, I can say that it is passing and the creative is starting to come back and I’m hoping that I will soon make a start on my enormous to do list…

So far it’s still been a toss up as to who gets the most attention the  Felties or Furries.

Needlefelted Fennec foxes

I’m obsessed with Fennec foxes, great characters with over sized ears. These are my largest needlefelt characters so far, and posable from tail to ears great fun..

Then there is Belly Button Bear, the furry miniature too

  1. I missed looking at your beautiful creations, Irene! So glad you got your mojo back (and think positive: maybe you needed to break something to rise from the recovery a more inspired person? Silver linings…)

Those foxes are adorable, and your bears just make me want to squeeze something violently (it’s a psychological phenomenon that happens when one sees something so cute there needs to be a physical reaction to it!) No, I’m not weird at all ๐Ÿ˜€
